Initial Version
I finally chose a name for this project today and went with Frontier: New Worlds. Frontier because the gameplay will centre around the exploration and conquest/colonization progression, and New Worlds because the map data will be procedurally generated.
When a new game starts, it will create a 64x64 representation of "Europe" with the major nations represented. Your expedition will start in the capital city of the nation you've selected to play as, and you choose an unexplored 64x64 region in the world to explore.
When the land is explored, you'll be able to send colonists, prospectors and merchants to build up a new world empire.
This initial version only allows generating one 64x64 square, however exploration and settlement does work at the moment.
