Darkwild Dungeons
Darkwild Dungeons
Explore the Darkwild: a dark forest in perpetual twilight. Ancient monuments, temples and lairs of powerful creatures lay at the end of multi-floor dungeons of escalating danger. Hidden across the world are secret locations concealing traps, treasures, and strange encounters.
Combat & Progression
Combat is turn-based: every move you make gives monsters a turn to act. Choose your fights carefully.
- Equip weapons, armor, and trinkets found in chests or purchased from wandering merchant wagons
- Damage types matter - slash, blunt, and pierce interact with monster weaknesses and resistances
- Equip a bow, crossbow, javelin, or sling to attack from range (click a visible monster to fire)
- Drink potions for instant healing or temporary buffs (attack, defense, speed, max HP)
- Level up mid-dungeon and choose from three upgrade cards
- Build resistances to reduce incoming elemental damage

Pushing blocks: Walk directly into a block to push it. Use the movement keys - blocks cannot be pushed with the mouse. Blocks pushed onto pressure plates can open doors.
Winning & Losing
Win: Clear all dungeons on the world map. Each dungeon ends at an exit cell in the deepest room - reach it to advance floors, or escape entirely if you've had enough.
Lose: Your HP hits zero and you join the fallen.
Hall of the Fallen
Every run is recorded. The Hall of the Fallen tracks your runs by world seed, ranking them by Treasure Score - a measure of dungeons completed, gold collected, monsters slain, and whether you made it out alive. Earn Legacy Points from your scores to permanently improve your starting stats and resistances on future runs.
You don't have to win to matter. Even a short run contributes to your legacy.
Bugs
Unfortunately there are some bugs that result in a dungeon being unfinishable because the trigger for a door is on the wrong side. Also, some inventory items cannot be equipped and when you click them your stats increase without successfully equipping, and you can click it forever to beef up your player. I will fix these issues after the rating period.| Updated | 2 days ago |
