Invading Army Animations


Today I experimented with some animated armies that spawn when you (or the AI) invade a neighbouring province and march to conquer them.  If the destination province has no soldiers in it, then they march all the way and take over.  If it has some soldiers, then they march out and meet the invading army at the half-way point to fight and if they win the invasion fails and the defenders keep any food or gold the enemy invaded with.

I think this does a fair job at communicating what happens during the AI turns, next I will be working on castles to demonstrate the development level of the province along with flags scaled or duplicated to show the army size in the province.  This will help communicate to the player what is happening around them visually without having to dig through menus (though that data will be there if you're statistically inclined).
